News to Cheer You Up

The League of Conservation Voters recently reported some progress made toward improving life in America; here’s the list.

  • 1 in 4 people in the U.S. now live in a place that has committed to 100% clean energy
  • Eight governors joined the U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of 24 bipartisan governors committed to the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. They are: Tony Evers (WI), Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM), Janet Mills (ME), J.B. Pritzker (IL), Steve Sisolak (NV), Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Tom Wolf (PA), and Steve Bullock (MT).
  • Because of the Clean Buses for Healthy Niños campaign, more students will ride clean electric school buses thanks to advancements at the state and local level in Arizona, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, and New York.
  • Eleven states in the Conservation Voter Movement have enacted major Clean Energy for All priorities: Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Nevada, South Carolina, and Washington.
  • Seven states passed major climate change legislation with bipartisan support: Maryland, Maine, New Mexico, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and South Carolina.

With things so dire right now, a little bit of good news is needed to keep us going. I hope this makes you a little happier.
